How it's made: The beautiful birthing process of Peeps
Every year, the Peeps family welcomes roughly 2 billion marshmallow candies.
The production process has changed plenty in the last 52 years since the brand began making its strange candy. In 1953, it took approximately 27 hours to create a single Peeps candy using a hand-controlled pastry tube.
Fast-forward to present day, and it takes just six minutes to birth one of these candies. Which means that 509 Peeps are hatched every eight seconds and that they will soon takeover the world
Here's a look inside the Just Born factory, where the intimate process takes place Read more...

LG likely to unveil new flagship smartphone on April 28
LG will likely launch its new flagship smartphone on April 28, according to an invite sent to Mashable Tuesday
Save for one unfinished sentence, "see the Great...," the invite reveals very little. However, the stylized "G" in "great" makes it very likely we'll see the new smartphone from LG's G series — presumably the LG G4
No official details have been shared about the upcoming flagship so far. It's likely it'll play nice with the two smartwatches launched at this year's MWC in Barcelona, and it might have a curved screen, just like the LG G Flex 2 which premiered in February, but that's pure speculation at this point Read more...

'Top Gear' executive producer denies quitting show after leaked email
LONDON — Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman has denied he's leaving the show after a leaked email to staff seemed to indicate he was quitting.
Wilman, who many credit as one of the main reasons for the show's phenomenal success, said the email was "not a resignation statement, and nor was it meant for public consumption."
He'd only sent it to 113 trusted members of staff.
The future of Top Gear hangs in the balance with the recent dismissal of star Jeremy Clarkson following his physical and verbal assault of producer Oison Tymon. Read more...

Young British teens are worried they're addicted to porn, survey finds
LONDON — One in ten British teenagers aged 12-13 years old are worried they're addicted to pornography, according to a new survey published Tuesday
It also found that one in five said they’d seen pornographic images that shocked them or made them upset, while 12% of this age group said they had made or been part of a sexually explicit video.
The poll carried out by NSPCC Childline surveyed 700 12-13 year-olds in the UK, it was part of a wider survey of 2,000 children between 11 and 17, conducted last month.
Childline said it has heard from children who say watching porn has made them depressed, given them body image issues or made them feel pressured to engage in sexual acts they weren't ready for. Read more...

Breakfast art series gives celebrities a snap, crackle and pop
Forget Saturday morning cartoons. Start your morning with a spoonful of stars.
As with many great ideas, artist Sarah Rosado was struck by inspiration during breakfast. While eating a bowl of cereal and listening to R&B music, she came up with her idea to create celebrity portraits using Corn Flakes and Fruity Pebbles.
"Because music has never tasted so good," she told Mashable.
The crispy yet versatile breakfast staples proved to be excellent mediums for sculpting perfect representations of celebrities like Beyoncé, John Lennon, Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson. Read more...

What drove co-pilot Andreas Lubitz to crash the plane?
German police have removed a number of items from the home of Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings co-pilot who apparently crashed Flight 9525 into the French Alps Tuesday morning, killing all 150 people on board.
One of the items was a "significant clue" according to reports, although not a suicide note.
Officers searched German national Lubitz's flat in Dusseldorf, as well as the home he shared with his parents in Montabaur late Thursday, removing several boxes and a computer.
French officials have said the co-pilot intentionally descended the plane while the other pilot was locked out of the cockpit. Read more...

Men are obsessed with Lululemon's 'Anti-Ball Crushing' pants
Who knew a man's comfort downstairs was worth so much money?
Sportswear brand Lululemon has just discovered the high profits that come with making sure a guy has room to move in the pants. The company's ABC pants (an acronym for 'Anti-Ball Crushing') are behind a 16 percent growth in same-store sales last quarter, Chief Executive Officer Laurent Potdevin said, according to Bloomberg.
These pants have been "engineered" to help guys feel free while going about their daily schedule, with the Lululemon website stating they give "you and the family jewels room to breathe." They have six pockets, reflectors under the cuffs and are made with sweat-wicking Warpstreme fabric. Fresh and roomy Read more...

Hands on with Twitter Periscope, which is gunning for Meerkat
Twitter live video broadcasting is a squall inside an ocean of social media activity, and bobbing frantically in the middle of it like a shiny buoy is Meerkat, the little video-streaming app that could. Social media users are flocking to its bright beacon. It is the app and the social activity of the moment.
But slicing through the waves and headed right toward it is Periscope. It, too, is a live video streaming app. Like Meerkat, it's connected to Twitter. However that connection is deeper because, for all intents and purposes, Twitter is the submarine just below the surface the ocean that Periscope is connected to. Read more...
